Working Principle Overview
Tomarukun's braking principle consists of three stages: Kinetic energy redirection -> Friction dissipation -> Controlled braking.
When a vehicle collides with the device, the system rapidly lifts the front wheels through lever principle, redirecting the vehicle's forward kinetic energy from the horizontal direction to the vertical direction, efficiently channeling it into the ground and significantly reducing its forward momentum.
The remaining energy is transferred to the specially designed wear-resistant rubber pad at the bottom, where high-strength friction between the rubber pad and the road surface converts the residual kinetic energy into thermal energy, achieving smooth and controlled braking that reliably stops the vehicle from continuing forward.
Tomarukun Product Q&A
Q: What is Tomarukun for?
A: It acts as a "security guard" on construction sites - standing at the perimeter of the work zone, it both warns oncoming vehicles and stops them if they lose control.
Q: Where is it used?
A: Municipal road repairs, road maintenance, power line repairs, landscaping work - basically any low-speed temporary work zone that needs isolation.
Q: How heavy is it? Can one person handle it?
A: 25kg with wheels at the bottom - one person can push it. Folding, unfolding, and storage can all be done single-handedly.
Q: How does it stop a vehicle?
A: Upon impact, the device lifts the front wheels, redirecting impact force downward, while the rubber pad at the bottom creates friction with the ground to drag the vehicle to a stop.
Q: What is the stopping distance?
A: Approximately 8.7 meters at 60km/h, and approximately 3.0 meters at 40km/h (on dry asphalt roads).
Q: How is it used?
A: Push to designated location -> release the lock buckle -> lower the support arm -> rubber pad contacts the ground -> done. Reverse the steps when packing up.
Q: Can it be used at night?
A: The yellow color is highly visible during the day. At night, an optional LED light board can be installed - visible even in fog and darkness.
Q: Will rain or sun damage it?
A: The surface is treated against rust - no fading or rusting. No special care needed.
Q: How much space does it save when folded?
A: Height reduces from over 1 meter to just over 30 centimeters when folded - takes up little space during transport and storage.
Q: Is it environmentally friendly?
A: Made of aluminum alloy - recyclable and does not catch fire upon impact.
Q: How does it compare to traffic cones?
A: Cones just tip over when hit. Tomarukun stops the vehicle. One only warns, the other truly stops.
Q: How does it compare to concrete barriers?
A: Concrete barriers are immovable. Tomarukun can be pushed away. One requires a crane, the other can be handled by one person.
Q: Is the LED light board included?
A: No, it is an optional accessory and needs to be purchased separately.
Q: Can it be used again after a collision?
A: After a collision, inspect it - if there's no deformation or cracking, it can continue to be used.
Q: What maintenance does it need?
A: Keep an eye on rubber pad wear, check the lock buckle monthly, and touch up the surface paint promptly if damaged.
